Why I say "thank you" to France

France is my second homeland. It has given me as much as Africa. It is it that formed me. It gave me my culture.

It also gave me some of its values.

The sense of justice

The sense of solidarity of those who have with those who have less.

The necessary generosity that results from it.

France's infrastructures, whatever one may say, remain models for many countries.

I also feel French every day even while living in Lebanon, which has secular ties with France, even though my other Lebanese and Senegalese roots bring me back to France very regularly because these two countries have themselves inherited many ways of seeing or doing France.
